Peter Schneider is BIM Manager at the construction management company b+p baurealisation ag, a 120-employee company active in the German speaking part of Switzerland. In his role he is responsible for implementing BIM based working methods for cost planners, project managers and superintendents. In addition, he is involved in projects such as hospitals and museums, managing mandated BIM and ensuring proper information delivery from planning partners. In his practice of institutionalizing BIM he is confronted with the common challenge of bridging the gap between projects and internal implementation, between the operational and the managerial level.
With 10 years of experience on the BIM field he started in Brazil working at the internationally active Arquitectonica. Being in Switzerland since 2010 he started with consulting especially for general contractors in the field of cost planning. After that he joined the largest general contractor, Implenia, and built up the internal know-how in different departments such as: self-performed concrete, development, MEP Planning and general contracting.
Peter holds an architectural diploma from Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo, Brazil and concluded the Master of Advanced Studies in Management, Technology and Economics at the ETH Zürich.
